Python Go — Terms of Service

Welcome to Python Go! These terms are written in plain English. By subscribing you're agreeing to them, so please take a moment to read through.

1. Who We Are

Python Go is operated by Mark Reed, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about these terms please contact us at info@pythongo.co.uk.

2. What You're Subscribing To

Your subscription gives your school access to Python Go — a browser-based Python IDE designed for use in schools. Your subscription covers:

• Unlimited student use within your licensed school(s)
• One shared school login (username and password)
• All features available at the time of purchase
• All updates released during your subscription period

3. Your School Login

Your school is issued one username and password. This login is licensed to your school only and must not be shared with staff or students at other schools. By subscribing you agree that:

• Your login credentials will only be used within your licensed school(s)
• You will take reasonable steps to prevent your password being shared outside your school
• If you become aware your credentials have been shared externally you will notify us and change your password promptly
• Python Go displays your school name within the application — this is intentional and helps identify unauthorised use

4. What Your Subscription Includes

• Single school licence — use at one school site
• Multi-school licence — use at the number of schools specified at purchase
• MAT/Trust licence — use across your agreed group of schools

5. Pricing and Payment

• Subscriptions are billed annually
• Payment is by invoice — we will send you an invoice by email on account setup
• We'll send a quick confirmation email to the address you provide.
• Please add info@pythongo.co.uk to your contacts or safe senders list to ensure our emails reach you.
• Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date
• Prices are in GBP and exclude VAT (Python Go is not currently VAT registered)
• Early adopter pricing is locked for 3 years from your first subscription date provided your account remains active and renewed each year

6. Renewals and Cancellation

• Your subscription runs for 12 months from your account activation date
• We will contact you before your renewal date
• If you choose not to renew your account will expire and access will be removed
• There are no refunds for partial year cancellations
• Early adopter price lock is lost if you allow your subscription to lapse

7. Free Trials

Trial accounts are available at our discretion, limited to one trial per school. We reserve the right to end a trial at any time. Trial accounts have the same login sharing restrictions as paid accounts.

8. Student Data

Python Go does not collect, store or process any student data. All student work is stored locally in the student's own browser and never transmitted to our servers. You do not need a Data Processing Agreement with us in relation to student data.

9. Teacher and School Data

We collect and process school and teacher account data as described in our Privacy Policy at pythongo.co.uk/gdpr. By subscribing you confirm you have read our Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Python Go for legitimate educational purposes only. You must not share login credentials outside your licensed school(s), attempt to reverse engineer or copy the application, or use Python Go in any way that violates UK law.

11. Availability and Updates

We aim to keep Python Go available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Updates are included in your subscription at no extra cost.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your current subscription period.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify subscribing schools by email of any significant changes.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Python Go — Privacy & GDPR Summary

🔒 Python Go stores absolutely no student data of any kind.

Who we are

Python Go is operated by Mark Reed, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Mark Reed is the data controller for all personal data collected through this service.

What data we collect

• Teacher name and email address — for account management only
• School name — to identify the licensed institution
• School username and hashed password — one shared login per school
• Subscription status and pricing — to manage your account
• Usage data — login counts and run statistics for account security
• Account creation and expiry dates — to manage subscription lifecycle

Student data

Python Go collects no student data whatsoever. Student code is stored exclusively in the local storage of the student's own browser and never transmitted to our servers.

Where your data is stored

All data is stored on servers located in the United Kingdom, hosted by IONOS UK. Data does not leave the UK.

Who has access

Only Mark Reed (sole operator) has access to account data. No data is shared with, sold to, or processed by any third parties.

How long we keep your data

Account data is retained for 12 months after a subscription lapses, then permanently deleted.

Your rights
