PRIVACY & GDPR
Who we are
Python Go is operated by Mark Reed, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Mark Reed is the data controller for all personal data collected through this service. Contact us at info@pythongo.co.uk for any data-related enquiries.
What data we collect and why
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Teacher name and email address | Account registration and subscription renewal reminders only. No marketing emails. |
| School name | To identify the licensed institution. |
| School username and hashed password | One shared login per school. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash and cannot be reversed. |
| Subscription status and pricing | To manage your subscription, trial status, price lock-in, and account expiry date. |
| Usage data | Successful login count, peak session data and school roll size — to ensure school account security and password integrity. |
| Account creation and expiry dates | To manage subscription lifecycle and send timely renewal reminders. |
Student data
Python Go collects no student data whatsoever. Student code is stored exclusively in the local storage of the student's own browser. No student names, ages, work, or any other information is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Where your data is stored
All data is stored on servers located in the United Kingdom, hosted by IONOS UK. Data does not leave the UK.
Who has access to your data
Only Mark Reed (sole operator) has access to account data. No data is shared with, sold to, or processed by any third parties. No analytics or tracking services are used.
Cookies and local storage
Python Go does not use tracking cookies. The application uses browser local storage solely to save student code on the student's own device. This data never leaves the device and is not accessible to us.
How long we keep your data
Account data is retained for 12 months after a subscription lapses to allow for invoice resolution and account reinstatement. After this period all personal data is permanently deleted in accordance with UK GDPR.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, or restrict your data. To exercise these rights contact info@pythongo.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of contractual necessity and legitimate interests.
Marketing
We may contact schools who have not yet subscribed for the purpose of promoting Python Go. Existing customers will only receive service-related communications such as renewal reminders.
